The art center CONARTE is a cultural complex located inside Fundidora Park. It consists of different buildings that long ago served as industrial spaces, which gave a renowned name to Monterrey as a symbol of progress and development. Today, these spaces have adopted a new vocation focused on the formation, production and promotion of the arts.
The area of Education Services offers a permanent program of guided visits. Here, the public can learn about the different options that the Center of the Arts offers, as well as creating an experience of interaction between culture and art.
Theater of the arts and showroom (Center of the Arts II)
These galleries have an area of exhibition of 10,000 square feet that maintain a permanent program of temporary expositions focused on the plastic arts of local, national and international artist of the XX and XXI century. The entrance is free of charge.
The theater is located in the Center of the Arts II. It is the center of cultural expressions such as dance, music and theater. There is a concert every Wednesday. On the weekends you can enjoy theater and dance shows, as well as artistic festivals all year round. It has 348 seats and two spaces for wheelchairs.
Cineteca-Fototeca (Center of the Arts I)
The Cineteca-Fototeca was opened in April 1998, to project quality films to the public and preserve the culture of the northeast of Mexico through cinematography, photography, and video. The Cineteca revives the memory of the state’s cinematography, permanently exhibiting national and International films. It is also the where the International Film Festival of Nuevo Leon takes place each year.
The Fototeca protects and preserves the photographic memory of the Mexico’s northeast. It has the responsibility of cataloguing, digitalizing, and conserving its collection of photographs. Additionally, it offers a permanent program of temporary exhibitions year round dedicated to photography. Entrance is free of charge.
The “Nave Generadores” is a space whose main mission is to exhibit international and national pieces focused on the manifestation of intellectual art and emerging artists. It has the capacity to accommodate cultural and educational events of different types including debates, seminars and congresses. Entrance is free of charge.
